An Overview Of Ever 17
As some of you know, 999/VLR creator and producer Kotaro Uchikoshi was a scenario writer for several great visual novels before he worked on the Zero Escape series. An example is the Infinity series, where he formed a legendary partnership with producer Takumi Nakazawa, creating Never 7: The End Of Inifinity, Ever 17: The Out Of Infinity, and Remember 11: The Age Of Infinity. On this blog post, I will give an overview of what I think is the best game out of the three, Ever 17. It was Uchikoshi's only game (before the ZE series) that was released in English. Sadly, Hirameki International (the company that localized the game) went bankrupt a few months after the English release, printing only a limited number of copies. This sent prices for Ever 17 t…
Congradulations To Everyone Who Contributed
We have hit our highest WAM (Wiki Activity Monitor) rank and it was all because of the contributions everyone has been making! July also broke records for most total edits in a month, most pictures added, and most users contributing 100 or more main space edits. We're only half way through the month, too! Thank you to everyone for putting aside time in their daily lives to contribute to a community project, in which they get nothing in return (except for the satisfaction of giving others information about this awesome series).
Happy editing (and lets keep rising up the WAM charts!),

A question about quotes
Since we already collected quite a few humerous quotes from Virtue's Last Reward, shouldn't we use some of them as "Random quotes" on the main page? Or should we wait until we found more? Write what you think in the comments.
Exclusive 999 Interview In Nintendo Power!
I was digging through my closet when I found a copy of Nintendo Power (Vol. 267). Naturally, I read through it, and stumbled upon an interview with 999 producer Kotaro Uchikoshi. Read on to find out why the game turned out as it did, his personal thoughts, and jokes about his wife.
Nintendo Power: As a writer who specializes in the genre, what do you view as the advantages and challenges on working in the visual-novel medium, as opposed to writing traditional novels or films?
Uchikoshi: I'll start with the challenges. Visual novels have a lot of text, and people have a tendency to not like that. The large volume of text can make them hard to get into. Words are basically just a symbolic code, so it's a lot of work for the brain to decode wor…
Character Popularity Bracket
As a huge basketball and Zero Escape fan, I think it would be interesting to see who is the most popular character in the series. It will be a 32 character (16 from 999 and 16 from VLR) single elimination "tournament" (The character with the most votes in the matchup obviously wins the matchup). Each character will be seeded from 1-16, with the method of seeding determined by which game the character is from. After all of the matchups are complete, I will compile the results into a bracket.
- 1 How Seeding Is Determined
- 1.1 999
- 1.2 VLR
- 2 Seeds
- 2.1 999

Rewrite Characters events in VLR
I believe that every Character in VLR should get their page rewritten because I feel they do not show the character's actions to well. The pages explain well what happened before the AB project but they do not go into specifics into what happened to them during the actual Nonary Game like the characters pages in 999. Here's a suggestion of how we can fix these articles.
1) Talk about the charwcters role in their ending, (fot Dio we would put Dio's end in his article and explain his role in that ending).
2) Write their role in the true ending (Phi's end/ Another time).
I believe these steps will help improve the wiki significantly.
Quote Colors
Hey. I've created quotes now for every character in VLR in the "Humorous Quotes" section across various pages. So, if anyone else wants to add humorous quotes, be sure to maintain the same color for each character for the sake of continuity. For example, if you want to add a quote in the "B. Garden" page between Sigma and Luna, make sure to use the same name color that has been used in other pages. This will just make the wiki look nice overall!
The following pages contain, as a whole, each of the character's colors:
Laboratory (VLR)
Infirmary
Director's Office
GAULEM Bay
Rec Room
If you find a color that you think is better for one of the new characters (by new, I mean K or Quark, since they are only 1 page each at the moment. Please refrain fro…
999 DS and Ios comparison.
I recently convinced my aunt to download 999 on the I pad so I decided to compare the two versions to see which is better. It will take me some time to finish it though. Once I am done I will look at both game's pros and cons and write a review on this wiki.

An Interesting Story on Ace's Past
I have found a fanfic on the Nonary Game that Gentarou Hongou had to go through, and it is a pretty interesting read. Nagisa Nijisaki and Teruaki Kubota also participate, and explains how they met Hongou and Kagechika Musashidou. I find it to be almost as intense as the Second Nonary Game and can't believe that this story is not canon.

Oh and just in case you are confused about the characters...

- 2=Venus: A woman with short, red hair and jogging clothes.
- 3=Nagisa: A 13 year old boy with black hair and a gray waistcoat.
- 4=Mars: A 16 year old girl with brown hair, a multi-colored jumper, and headphones around her neck.

Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition Comes To Minecraft!
For all of you Minecraft players out there, one of our own users, Diapolo 10, created a fully playable Rhizome-9 for Minecraft! He says it is best played with 3, 6, or 9 players and claims that it is fully playable (Apparently, everything from voting in the AB Rooms to solving puzzles in the escape rooms is included.) It also comes with a customized resource pack, which really makes you feel like you are in the game!

increase popularity
I believe we need to spread the word for the Zero's Escape saga, tell your friends, family, etc about this awesome trilogy. That way the popularity of this series will increase.

support operation bluebird, because it is for a good cause and we want to see Zero Escape 3 and find out how the trilogy ends.
Zero Escape 3 Has Been Put On Hold
On his Twitter account yesterday, the creator of the Zero Escape series, Kotaro Uchikoshi says that the game is put on hold indefinitely (at this stage of the project). Apparently, the series did not sell well in Japan, which I thought was their biggest market. He says the biggest problem with development is the budget on which ZE3 is to made with, and says that he is trying to find investors. He thanks everyone who played 999 and VLR and says that he won't give up in getting Zero Escape 3 released "somehow, someday!"
And if it doesn't get released...
Follow the creator of the Zero Escape series, Kotaro Uchikoshi (@uchikoshi) for updates on Zero Escape 3!
virtues last reward funny quotes in escape room
I think that we should also put funny quotes not only from 999 but from VLR and eventually Zero escape 3 because this is a wiki for the whole zero escape series and not just 999.
Just my luck!
I'm beginning to think that all technology seriously hates me. After the incident where my laptop decided to kill itself earlier this year, everything just seems to break. Just five minutes ago, my MicroSD card decided "You know what? I think I'll just break everything and force you to format me!" And so I have lost over 5000 files! Music, text documents, photos, and even work documents!
I'd say FML, but that doesn't even BEGIN to describe how I feel right now!

I'm On A Mission!
As of November 03, 2013, I am on a mission to write the ultimate guide to 999. I know it has most likely been done before but I have always wanted to write a guide and 999 is the perfect choice. It will have character descriptions, sketches, walkthroughs, hints, tips, quotes, and for the really desperate players... answers to the puzzles. There will be descriptions about things such as the Morphogenetic Field, Soporil, and even descriptions about in-game locations.
More information when I find a decent place to WRITE it. Yes, that's right, it will be on paper.

Doctor Who, 999-esque Episode!
Right, being a huge Doctor Who and 999 fan, I couldn't help but flail violently at how similar this episode was to the game. SPOILERS AHOY!
The episodes name is "The God Complex", and it's the eleventh episode of the sixth series.
The basic plot is that "The Doctor" and his companions find themselves trapped in what seems to be a 1980's hotel with constantly changing corridors. There are four other people who appear in the hotel with no idea how they got there.
The location itself was quite similar to 999. All of the windows and exits were boarded up or sealed shut, there are numbered doors (however, in this, they represent the characters fears), there's a room that looks almost exactly like the bar/lounge in 999, and here's the big one: It win…
Movie similiar to 999 - The Cube
Well I just wanted you to know, if you didn't yet, that there is a movie that is a lot similiar to 999: it's called The Cube.
Six men and women that don't know each other wake up in a cube, without knowing the reason. Each face of the cube has a passage that brings them to another cube identical to the previous. They have to find an exit, but there are a lot of deathly (and splatter-like) traps. There is a lot of suspance and in the story they discover a little about who created the cube (it's clear in the third movie - the second sucks). And the characther also starts to fight each other because of their psychology...

Good vision :)
999-like game for Android
I know many of you enjoyed 999 as much as I did and I would like to pass my findings on.
Recently I stumpled across an escape the room-game which seemed normal but at second notice I realized that there was something more.
Here, read for yourself:

Main page and Wiki skin
Like the title indicates, there are two issues I would like to see discussed. Please leave your opinions in the comments.
By wiki skin I mean the background image that appear to the left and right of the pages (please correct me if I'm misusing the term).
It has occurred me for quite some time that I have no idea what our current wiki skin actually is. Is it related to 999 in any way at all? Shouldn't we change it for something that is indeed related to the game? My suggestion would be that we change it for, for instance, one of the wallpapers from the official website http://www.aksysgames.com/999/media/wallpapers. My suggestion would be to, say, use the first one so as to keep the dark tones of the wiki, but adding some level of transparen…
Images on the wiki
Hello wiki!,
As some of you may have noticed, I've been busy the last couple of days uploading a buckload of images to the wiki, and at this point I've uploaded just about every CG in the game, with very good quality (I've obtained these from the website I list in the style page).
My idea is that, since some of the contributors here don't have an easy time uploading images, this would facilitate their work by providing a library of the images in the game. This of course means that the images will need to be sorted in some easy to access way.
Here's how I intend to do it:
The Category:Images page will list as subcategories the relevant types of images. Here are the current subcategories:
- Category:Story CG - This category is meant to contain all …

Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes unveiled at TGS 2011!
It's been a month since it was unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show 2011 and I'm still wondering how I could I have been so blind to such tremendous news. Anyway, to those of you who didn't believe, to those of you who thought that it wasn't possible, here it is: A sequel has been announced for Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors!. The new game is called 極限脱出ADV 善人シボウデスGyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes, which translated from Japanese, roughly means "Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die". The game features an entirely new cast (well, maybe except Zero) and a shiny new protagonist, Sigma. Sigma is only one of the 9 new poor suckers kidnapped and forced to play the Nonary Game.
Wait, Good People Die?! You learn straight from the title that …
Allice - the real deal?
Ok, I've decided I'm just going to throw it out there. This is the one that's got everyone talking about so I might as well post it.
- We've seen the last image of the game. Does Allice really exist? Is that just another woman hitchhiking in the Nevadan desert? Or could Junpei and Seven just be seeing things?
Yes, although just by looking at the picture you'd probably automatically assume that it's Allice without any second thought. However, there is no proof in the game that she actually exists. Hongou himself couldn't find Allice "beyond the forest of knowledge", and found the mandrake root instead. Everything in which Allice was mentioned, was only rumors and speculation. No direct evidence can be found linking to Allice. And speaking of dir…
